Everton manager Rafael Benitez was left unexplained after Everton lost 5-2 at home to Watford despite a 2-1 lead in the middle of the second half.
The Spanish chief said “I think it’s hard to explain. When you’re 2-1 up and conceding 4 goals in just a few minutes. We have to understand how to manage the game. Especially when you’re in a situation where you’re score-leading.”
“We conceded four goals in just a few minutes. And usually you can’t let that happen in the Premier League.”
“When you score the second goal That’s when you are compact. and better organized but we made a mistake after a mistake It’s hard to explain.”
“We have to be better. Especially when you’re the one who controls the game.”
“It never is in the Premier League, but it is a chance for us to show a good reaction and do better.
“We gave away possession in some situations that allowed West Ham the chance to continue moving the ball and managing the game.

“Then you have to continue defending and can be more tired.
“The next game will be an opportunity to do well and, hopefully, we can play at the level we reached in previous matches.”
Benitez will not be the only coach going into this weekend’s match hoping for a response, with Ranieri promising improvement from Watford’s submissive display against Liverpool.
“Now I know much better my players. Because I met all my players two days ago,” the Italian said on Saturday.
“During the last 10 days I watched the training session of my players. But of course the truth is on the pitch against big teams. Now I know them very very well.
